Learning objective: Explore the challenges women face and empower them to overcome resistance and thrive as leaders in the workforce.

In contemporary workplaces, the traditional dynamics of leadership are being challenged as women ascend to positions of authority. However, this transition is not without its hurdles. Historically, leadership roles have been predominantly occupied by men, creating ingrained expectations and biases. As women assume leadership positions, they often face resistance from male colleagues who may harbor unconscious biases or feel threatened by a shift in power dynamics. This resistance can manifest in various forms, including skepticism of competence, reluctance to follow directives, and even outright defiance.

Drawing on insights from psychology, organizational behavior, and real-world experiences, this seminar will delve into the various forms of resistance women may face when leading men. From subtle undermining behaviors to overt challenges to authority, attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of the dynamics at play.

Moreover, this seminar will highlight the importance of organizational culture and leadership development in addressing gender dynamics in the workplace. Through fostering a culture of respect, equality, and open communication, organizations can create pathways for women to lead effectively and for men to support their leadership without succumbing to resistance. Our panel will create a deeper understanding of the challenges women face when leading men in the workforce and practical strategies for overcoming resistance.

By the end of the seminar, attendees will:

1. Examine the signs of resistance to develop effective strategies to address it.
2. Explore assertive communication techniques to assert authority, set boundaries, and convey confidence without being perceived as aggressive.
3. Discuss strategies for fostering positive relationships and cultivating allies, emphasizing the importance of mentorship and peer support, and build alliances with colleagues to help mitigate resistance and garner support.
4. Examine techniques to regulate their emotions, empathize with others’ perspectives, and maintain composure in challenging situations.
5. Attendees will gain practical negotiation skills and conflict resolution techniques to address conflicts constructively and find mutually beneficial solutions.
