The woman’s reproductive system is strong and smart, but male-female stereotypes seriously underexpose the female genitalia. From scientific reproductive animations we learn, that the brave sperm cells conquer to find a way through aggressive obstacles in the uterus to be the first sperm to reach the egg to penetrate it. The egg is in this fertilization story a waiting floating ball without identity. Our cultural sexual male-female stereotypes favour females to be passive and wait for the strongest and most aggressive male to capture her.

Those gender roles are romanticized in the fertilization story and because of that the egg has a passive role and the sperm an aggressive role. Therefore, the sexual virility is taken away from the woman. In my opinion, it is not healthy to divide human characteristics in male and female. One can be strong and kind at the same time. Men and women both can be sexual passive or assertive. The Great Egg is a subversion animation of the fertilization story. Together with the character ‘Egg’, we will experience a cheerful adventure through the female genitalia.
