Dating After a Painful Loss

People

After being in a relationship for a whole lifetime, one can be suddenly grief stricken when that relationship comes to a screeching halt. After the one you love the most happens to lose their life, it can be very difficult learning to move on and live without them. This is why so many elderly people are alone, because they have lost their spouse along the way. In past years, it has been traditional to not remarry after you are old because it was looked down upon. But, times have changed and the retirement Florida dating is changing and increasing for the better. Florida seniors’ dating is not a bad idea and it is honestly increasing tourism and economical profits.

Learning to date again can be difficult, but there is no reason for one to give up on love and continue living life as a widower. Everyone has the right to be happy and if happiness involves building relationships with others, then so be it. Dating is a very odd term because it is so narrow and does not allow people to simply “meet new people”. A lot of old or elderly people are only interested in new friendships, and sometimes those friendships develop into more serious relationships. At that point a serious relationship is not really attainable like the ones that they might have been involved in before. But, the idea of it keeps them from feeling lonely.

Many members of society put down dating or even marriage after the death of a spouse, but who is it to say that love cannot be found after a previous love has died? Why should someone have to live in silence and sorrow for years until they die as well? If it were a real loving relationship, then each spouse would be open to each other being happy even after death. Many people seem to think that getting married again serves as replacing a loved one. This is certainly not the case.

Dating again whether it is with someone that you already know or someone that you have just met is not a bad thing. Though society has looked down upon it in the past, it is important to recognize that just because you are elderly and have been married does not mean that your life is over. Every day brings new possibilities and everyone needs to recognize that. Older couples are of course not as promising as those of the younger crowd, but they are at least long term and it keeps them happy. What more could you ask for?

It is important to understand the needs of an eighteen year old as well as a seventy-five year old. Their likes and dislikes do not change from age to age and neither does their method of loving someone else. None of that changes from the time you get married to the time that you may remarry. If society can stop the ridicule of remarriage than maybe elderly people would more open to the idea of public social dating?
