Valentine’s Day is here again! It’s time to feel the love and share the love. Doesn’t matter whether you are single or attached, love truly is all around. We always have an abundance of love to share.

One suggestion for Valentine’s Day 2011 is to celebrate on a flight at Milford Sound! Actually, go on a flight over anywhere can create wonderful Valentine’s Day memories, whether you are with lover, friends or on your own.

Milford Sound, as described by various sources, is “Nature at its most beautiful – primeval forests, walls of rock with cascading waterfalls hidden amongst towering snow-capped peaks.”

I remember for Valentine’s Day 2009, I went for a scenic flight over Fiordland. On top of the excellent view and gorgeous sights, I managed to be on the co-pilot seat! What more to ask for?

There are several companies that do scenic flights, catering to your individual preferences. There are many flight timings to suit your itinerary, with the actual airtime being less than an hour or so.

I tried Milford Sound Scenic Flights to fly from Milford Sound to Queenstown. Not too sure why, their 4.30pm flight daily, between October and April, is the cheapest (at NZD $315) compared to all other timings.

Well, if you are already in Milford Sound, you can take this as a return flight to Queenstown after your cruise. This scenic flight takes you through the magnificent views of mountains, glaciers, lakes and forests of Fiordland National Park. It is like a quicker and more convenient way to return to Queenstown, as compared to the longer bus journey.

Milford Sound Scenic Flights also do trips to other nearby locations, such as Dart River, Mount Cook, Mount Aspiring and Lake Wanaka glaciers. You can see Milford Sound and Mitre Peak in a 1-hour flight from Queenstown – including the Tasman Sea, waterfalls and lakes in Fiordland National Park.

For a longer session, you can fly in from Queenstown to enjoy a spectacular view of mountains, lakes and fjords in Fiordland National Park. Go for a cruise at Milford Sound, and return to Queenstown after that, all within 4 hours.

Whatever you decide to you, I wish you a great Valentine’s Day! Have a splendid day with your loved one, your friends, or even on your own.
