After the birth: A Celebration of Cultural Post Natal Care. This project was developed to celebrate the differences and similarities between women giving birth around the world.

Avin gave birth in Iran in 2012. She tells us of being diagnosed with gestational diabetes, having an elective caesarian and cared for by her family for 40 days.

When little Arad was 8 months old, the family was forced to flee their homeland and seek safety in another country. After a long journey, they arrived in Australia, only to find her husband was critically ill.

Tragically, he passed away 2 years after bringing his wife and son to safety. Avin and Arad now live in Sydney and are rebuilding their lives in safety.
