Be prepared. If you are especially serious in finding “the one” then determine what are you looking for … qualities, behavior, and physical appearance. If necessary, do some research and have yourself ready for dating. There will be some ups and downs in dating so don’t take it too seriously.
Look good but be yourself. If you think its time to throw out those old pair of jeans and those rugged looking sweaters then be it – go shopping for new one. Treating yourself a new wardrobe for a whole new look is a good start, just remember to choose something that will flatter yourself and not something that can make you feel and look ridiculous.
Look good and feel good. Looking good doesn’t only depends on what you’re wearing but how you feel inside. Start a scheme that will make you feel your best, try reading some health and fitness magazine, enroll in a gym if necessary, get an overall treatment in a spa, or a new haircut. This will not give you a date in one click but it will definitely boost your confidence in finding one.
Have a goal. Ask and assess yourself on what is your goal in dating – if you are looking for someone to marry in two years time then act accordingly; be serious in your dating. If you are doing it just for fun then don’t take dating too seriously. Be very truthful in assessing your dating goals.
Be confident. With the first four steps you can boost your confidence level – now is the time to maintain it. Try to avoid things that will affect your coolness especially negative feedbacks from other people. Make sure to be present at the right type of social function depending on your dating goal.
Be realistic. Decide on someone that you know you can date – don’t aim too high or too low but do aim reasonably. Base your dating on the whole package that you project and the type of personality you state.
Go outdoors. Of course you can’t find a dating partner inside the house so let yourself out and be discovered. Join some clubs and organizations, attend social gatherings and sporting events. Explore and be explored.
Be a little too private. Don’t expose yourself at once on first date – putting in some mystery and vagueness will give thrill to the dating process. Sleeping with your date in the getting-to-know-you stage will left you nothing to offer and most likely potential love isn’t going to blossom.
