Portland Parks & Rec staffers, led by the amazing Shawn Lindsay & pitchers mound artiste Joe Kelly, along with PPR Foundation staffers, community members (including two women who stopped by to help during their morning walk) and Friends of Baseball Executive Director Nova Newcomer and her son (the young man featured in the video) spent Saturday morning completely rebuilding the southeast baseball field at Fernhill Park. It was an amazing process – few of us knew that clay bricks were part of the process – and the result is a gorgeous new field that will be ready for years of play come next Spring.
