Woman Rising: A Story About Courage and Hope

Human trafficking is a hidden crime that affects hundreds of girls and women in Maine every year. They are exploited, abused, and trapped in a life they never chose. But there is hope. There are survivors who have escaped the clutches of their traffickers and are rebuilding their lives with courage and dignity. There are also organizations and individuals who are working tirelessly to raise awareness, provide support, and advocate for change.

“Woman Rising” tells the story of a brave survivor named Cary Stuart and her allies. It explores the root causes and consequences of human trafficking in Maine, as well as the challenges and opportunities for prevention and intervention.
