This video-based art installation shows two women whose partner’s abuse followed them into their workplace and threatened their jobs and careers. Unlike most Asian domestic violence survivors these protagonists speak out. So, as they articulate their stories, their words surround them.    
 
In Workplace the viewer’s movement shifts what the survivor says next. This leads to a jumble of sentences and repetitions – accurately depicting the thought process of some women trying to explain yet repress, understand but deny such painful memories.  
 
This jumble might be a good experience for will-be prosecutors, defense attorneys and police people to understand because unfortunately with domestic violence stories and memories are not so coherent because of the enormous disassociation that accompanies horror.
