Shamaiah Turner is a sheet metal worker in Local 17, based in Boston. Shamaiah initially studied architecture, volunteered with Habitat for Humanity in Florida and also volunteered in the rebuilding after Hurricane Katrina. She then took part in the 7 week Building Pathways pre apprenticeship program.

This interview is part of a growing international archive documenting the experiences of women working in manual trades and non traditional employment.
