How did we get our start?
Floto was established in 2003 after Joe Floto brought back a leather travel bag from Italy and noticed that everywhere he went with it people asked – “where did you get that bag”?
What makes our products unique?
We specialize in Italian hand stained leather which is metal free, sustainable, and not harmful to people. This centuries old Tuscan tanning tradition produces colorful leather that is easy to craft and gets better with age.

The Typical Day at Floto
On average a Floto leather bag will pass through 28 different work benches at our factory in Florence, Italy : cutting, skiving, gluing, sanding, painting, internal assembly, hand stitching, riveting, etc. – enough to make your head spin.
Along the way take pride in our work. We work hard but we also find time to laugh and appreciate life. We arrive at work early, but we take a long lunch and nap. We work into the evening and then drink wine and eat pasta for dinner.

Handmade Full Grain Leather – tanned by hand in Tuscany with no chemicals – only vegetable extracts and natural oils. The color penetrates deep into the leather so scratches are easy to polish out. This is a supple leather with bright and vibrant colors. It has a scent that is perfume for leather lovers. The older the better – over time this bag will develop a beautiful patina and have a warm, silky touch.
Cross body strap adjusts to 68″ maximum length.
The inside is leather lined, has a zip pocket, and 2 multifunction smartphone pockets. Magnetic flap closure.
