In July 2022, EarthChildren began working with two beautiful women in the world’s largest refugee camp to rebuild their home. We believe that having a home is a human right. The shelter that the two women were living in was made from simple plastics and a bamboo frame. It was falling down, leaked in the rains, and provided no protection from the elements. Our team worked for 10 days to rebuild their home using sustainable materials where possible. We then equipped their home with renewable energies (solar power), a clean cooking stove (fuelled by rice husk bio bricks), bedding and mosquito netting, tables, and chairs. The women now have somewhere they can rest.
