There are many weight loss programs and regimens available on the market, but most of them cost a fortune. The most expensive are probably the types of programs that prepare all your meals and have them delivered to your own house. These are ideal for people with busy lifestyles, but as a long-term solution will your bank account looking empty. Other products like diet pills can also be effective while you are taking them, but what happens when you stop? They will keep costing you money each month for as long as you want to keep the weight off.

We all know exercise is a key part to losing weight and keeping it off. This is another area of weight toss that can become quite expensive. So many people commit to 6 month gym memberships only to find they lose motivation after a few months and the rest of that money is wasted. Many people cannot afford to even begin in the gym due to the high membership fees. But there are cheaper ways to get fit and lose weight, and they are actually more effective than what I have mentioned so far!

Firstly, the exercise component. To achieve long-term sustainable weight loss you need to change your lifestyle. There are so many ways to exercise at home for little to no cost that are much more effective and convenient than going to a gym 5 days a week. Some examples of exercise that are easy to do at home include going for a walk or jog around the neighborhood, going for a swim at the local pools, going for a bike ride, doing sit-ups, push-ups and squatting in your backyard etc. If you find these exercises get repetitive after a while, and have a little bit of money to spend, go on eBay and find some cheap second-hand equipment. For a few hundred dollars (2 month gym fees) you can set up your own home gym!

Finally comes diet. There is so much free information available out there it can be hard to decide on who is telling the truth. I would recommend you invest in a cheap book (there are many available for very little cost) to get you started. Look for something that is from a reputable and reliable source with experience in the field. For the value they offer, they are cheap and will set you on the right track from the beginning. If you cannot afford 20-30 dollars for a book, just do a little research online and you will find the information you are looking for, although this may take little longer.
